Classical concerts, opera and high-class events take place at the Philharmonic in Essen, proof of the culture in the Ruhr Area. The Essen Philharmonic, with its historical hall building, is one of the most beautiful and acoustically one of the best concert halls in Germany. A concert at the Essen Philharmonic is an absolute cultural highlight, especially for cultural city breaks. The building was opened in 1904 by Richard Strauss, which can look back on a significant musical tradition. After considerable renovation, the building was ceremoniously reopened in June 2004, and has since garnered great recognition internationally for its programme of performances. Many more musical highlights with internationally renowned artists and ensembles supplement the multifaceted programme of the Essen Philharmonic, with classics, jazz, new and old music, symphonic concerts and chamber music. The Philharmonic has been distinguished as “accessible for all” by a major German association for the disabled.

The REFSQ 2014 conference dinner will take place on Wednesday April 9th 2014 19:30 pm, at Wallberg.
Vegetarian participants will also be well catered with an enticing selection of seasonal salads, roast vegetables, sea-fruit delicacies and further vegetarian dishes. In order to make the conference dinner a special event a band will entertain you in this comfortable atmosphere.

How to Get There
REFSQ 2014 wants you to have a pleasant stay and easy ways to the dinner location, so you can either use the public transport system (about 5 min) or come by foot (about 2 km and 25 min).
